Publishing modes and CMS push

Three modes, when to use each, and how the CMS integration roadmap rolls out.

Each workspace picks one of three publishing modes from Settings → General:

Preview only (default)

Drafts stay inside SyncSEO. You copy / paste or download as Markdown. No external integrations needed. This is the safest starting point and what most workspaces use until they trust the pipeline on their domain.

Push to CMS as drafts

Pushes approved drafts to your connected CMS (WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Notion) as drafts — never publishes without your approval. You still hit Publish in your CMS; SyncSEO just saves the round-trip of copy/paste. Requires a CMS connection set up under Settings → Integrations.

Auto-publish approved drafts

Publishes immediately on approval inside SyncSEO. Requires the same CMS connection PLUS an explicit opt-in click. Best left off until you’ve had a few rounds of articles you actually want to publish without a re-read.

CMS connection roadmap

Connections ship in waves. WordPress is first; Webflow and Ghost next. Notion and Google Docs as Tier-2 push targets. Webhook URL for fully custom CMS integrations. Check Settings → Publishing for current support — the integration list there mirrors what’s shipped.
